I’ve written a handful of intros over the years when I have started projects like this and I always bloat them with needless padding to help people get a feel for my personality. So I think this time I will just jump right into the point of this. Forgive me if its a bit robotic.

My name is Drew. I am a decently avid fan of table top RPGs. I’ve played D&D for over 10 starting in 3.5 and playing each edition since. I’ve played with friends, random people, online, and even more than one occasion I played while driving… I promise it wasn’t as bad as it sounds. I’ve dabbled in some other games as well, Starfinder, Pathfinder, GURPS, Kids on Bikes, and I’ve read the Call of Cthulu Investigator’s Handbook though I’ve never got the chance to play.

Sadly once a group picks a game–at least in my experience–most groups tend to stick with that game because learning an entire new system requires time and effort. Not that this is a bad thing. It’s just somewhat unfortunate because there are so many other options out there to play and get a totally different experience.

So the point of all this is, well, a lot of things. I’ve wanted to check out some solo methods of playing TTRPGs. There is a good bit of information out there, but at the same time it still feels like a daunting task to really start getting into it. There are several books, tables, and some people even use AI.

My ultimate goal for this blog and everything was really just to log my escapades into solo adventures. I read a few places online where people said to write everything in a blog and share it around to get feedback and such on how to improve solo play. But as I started setting it up I had some other thoughts. So now it’s just going to be a weird inconsistent amalgamation of all of the stuff I wanted to do over the years. I’ll be detailing my solo adventures, probably my normal adventures, maybe offering advice here and there, but the other thing is, a separate system all together.

One that I built from the ground up. Though I worry it will be too derivative of other games, so, hey, I guess that’s why you put it here first, huh? I’d actually started doing what I am doing here for that a few years ago, but it fizzled out. Maybe having all the options of stuff to post here will help me stay on top of it.

So anyway. That’s all I have for now, so stick with me, or don’t. Wouldn’t blame anyone either way.

So…thanks!

Could very well be — AFAIK, Google & Amazon are the biggest proprietors of the new “proprietary” top-level domains. In contrast to generic TLDs, the pricing of proprietary TLD is entirely up to the proprietors (they are kind of like Kings in that respect). Also, I think that the proprietors have much more ability to make their own rules & regulations.
